Century-Old Midtown Church Property Could Become Hotel and Event Space, Filing Suggests

Source: Sacramento Business Journal

A filing with the city of Sacramento provides a hint at the future of a century-old church property in Midtown.

The development application filed earlier this month suggests at least partial demolition, alterations and improvements to create event space and 12 hotel rooms at 2700 L St.

Pioneer Congregational Church, which owns 2700 L St., announced in April it had listed the property for sale with Turton Commercial Real Estate. Commercial real estate brokers on the church listing said more recently the property was in escrow, though Sacramento County property records do not show the sale has closed.

The asking price for 2700 L St. is $3 million. Jack Scurfield and Ken Turton are the listing brokers.
