Gormley Funeral Home Sells Midtown Site to Pappas, Will Move to Land Park

Source: Sacramento Business Journal

Two recent commercial real estate sales will clear the way for a Midtown Sacramento business with 129 years of history to relocate to the city’s Land Park neighborhood.

W.F. Gormley & Sons Funeral Chapel will move later this year to 2685 Riverside Blvd. Gormley bought that location and sold its current home, at 2015 Capitol Ave., to Pappas Investments.

The location on Riverside Boulevard, which records show Gormley & Sons bought for $2.9 million, has a 6,553-square-foot building on a lot of just over an acre. Gormley said the chapel size is about the same as at 2015 Capitol Ave., while the building itself is smaller. But parking accessibility and proximity to nearby freeways make it a better fit, he added.

Scott Kingston and Jack Scurfield from Turton Commercial Real Estate worked on this transaction.
