Joneck’s Wine Lounge & Bottle Shop, which opened in East Sacramento a year ago, is planning a move to J Street in Midtown.
Co-owners Renee Joneck and Todd Joneck opened Joneck’s at 5619 H St. in East Sacramento last April, offering wine by the glass and wine flights, beer options and small bites. The operators said business in East Sacramento has been steady but an opportunity came up for a space in Midtown Sacramento where they feel the business will perform better.
“About 80% of our regulars and people who come in don’t live in East Sacramento, they are driving to come visit us so our hope is they continue to patronize the business and follow us over to the new location,” said Renee Joneck. “We wanted to come to Midtown originally when we started looking for spaces. There are many other similar businesses in that area and it’s very walkable. We are just excited to be in a space that is welcoming and we look forward to working with other businesses in the area.”
The business is relocating to an approximately 1,200-square-foot space at 2231 J St., Suite 101. Joneck said the new location will feature all the same interior furnishings and decor from the East Sacramento location.
The move will also open up new opportunities, she said, particularly with expanded hours and an updated food menu to include more than just small bites such as charcuterie. They also plan to incorporate outside seating at the new location in the future.
The Midtown location is anticipated to open by the end of summer, Joneck said. The East Sacramento site will close a few weeks prior to the switch to allow operators time to move equipment and furniture, she said.
