After a monthslong hiatus, popular Sacramento vegan restaurant Bambi Vegan Tacos appears to have permanently closed.
Turton Commercial Real Estate has listed 1725 I St. for lease, with materials indicating the building is “available for immediate occupancy.” That’s the address of Bambi Vegan Tacos, which has been operating out of the space since September 2021.
The LoopNet listing describes 1725 I St. as a second-generation restaurant and bar space of 2,200 square feet. The building is being offered at a rate of $36 per square foot. The listing also notes that furnishings, fixtures and equipment are available under a separate agreement, with the possibility of adding on the prior tenant’s alcohol license.
Kimio Bazett, a director at Turton who’s listed as the leasing agent for the property, did not immediately return a phone call about the property.
Bambi Vegan Tacos, which served vegan items such as a “garden chorizo” taco and a signature Bambi taco made with mushrooms and dusted with vegan “Parmesan,” had announced a weeklong closure via social media in November of last year, but never reopened.
Bambi Vegan Tacos owner Chad Novick did not immediately respond to a request for additional details.
Bambi originally briefly operated as Easy Diner, a nod to the space’s former longtime occupant Easy on I, before reverting back to the Bambi menu the team had popularized with its food truck
Bambi Vegan Tacos had 4.7 stars on Yelp, with 300 reviews. Google still lists the restaurant as only temporarily closed.
