The restaurant space most recently occupied by Pieology Pizzeria in Downtown Sacramento won’t sit vacant for long, as its replacement is already in the works.
Pieology permanently closed its restaurant at 1020 16th St. in Sacramento earlier this week after nearly a decade in the space. It was the chain’s second area site to close within the last month.
Michael Heller, president of local developer Heller Pacific, which owns the building, said the operator of Pieology expressed interest in moving on from the site because of the slow transition of workers returning to Downtown offices post-Covid. Pieology had been in the space since 2014.
Heller said the operators of Burmese eatery My Burma, who operate a restaurant formerly branded as Burma Eats in Davis Commons, have signed a lease to take over the space. Heller said the group that owns My Burma also owns other similar restaurants in the Bay Area.
