Rancho Cordova City Council Approves Series of Entitlements for Downtown Dova Project

Rancho Cordova took a big step toward developing a downtown gathering space Monday, approving components of the Downtown Dova plan in a series of votes.
Though council members said they recognized some residents are skeptical, they said fulfilling a 20-year-plus goal for the city — providing entertainment — was worth the move.
Downtown Dova’s first phase would include a 7,500-seat arena hosting men’s and women’s indoor soccer teams and an outdoor plaza. The arena would be on the northern end of 28 acres of undeveloped land at Kilgore Road and Trade Center Drive.
Scott Kingston, David Scanlon, and Shilo Rochelle with Turton Commercial Real Estate is working on this project.
