Rancho Cordova Planning Commission Approves Downtown Dova Project

The Rancho Cordova planning commission has approved the Downtown Dova project, a proposed entertainment district featuring a 7,500-seat arena, and has recommended it for city council approval.

The project would be built on a 28-acre parcel at Kilgore Road and Trade Center Drive. Plans include creating a new entertainment district with stores, restaurants, two or more hotels, and a 7,500-seat arena that could host indoor soccer games and concerts. The development is expected to bring construction jobs as well as permanent jobs to the city.

The city has stated that Downtown Dova will be financed primarily through private capital but will also require city support.
