River District Proposal Would Redevelop Three Sites With Housing, Commercial Space

Source: Sacramento Business Journal

Two blocks of the River District in Sacramento could undergo new and adaptive reuse development that would lead to hundreds of new residential units as well as commercial space.

An application is expected to be filed early this week with the city for what’s called the Grower’s District, covering three properties at 200, 211 and 215 N. 16th St.

“This area has long been passed over as an investment opportunity,” said John Dangberg, a consultant and retired assistant city manager working with the developer, Bauen Capital from Los Gatos. But across the U.S., Dangberg said, similar areas have transformed into urban assets and destinations.
