West Sac Land, Planned for Apartments, Hits Market with Turton Commercial

Bare land in West Sacramento planned a few years ago for 455 apartments is now on the market for sale.

Although Turton Commercial Real Estate’s listing of 851 Sacramento Ave. mentions zoning for housing or development with a mix of uses, there isn’t any actively entitled project for the site.

“To my knowledge, it’s the largest possible infill development site on the market,” said Scott Kingston, a senior vice president with Turton who’s on the listing. “The city is excited about someone coming in and entitling it, but it doesn’t have any entitlement at the moment.”

The land at 851 Sacramento Ave., about 8.16 acres, is along a railroad line and not far from development areas such as downtown West Sacramento and the riverfront.

The listed price is $8,888,888, which the listing notes is a reflection of a belief in Chinese culture about eight being a lucky number because its pronunciation is similar to the Chinese word for fortune. In addition to Kingston, Ken Turton and Kaylyn Ibarra of Turton Commercial are the listing brokers.
