When CrossFit Analog opens early next year on R Street in Sacramento, those coming for a workout can trust in the trainers, said the leasing agent for the gym.
After all, said Jon Lang of Turton Commercial Real Estate in Sacramento, business partners Jesse Gray and Steve Gray are not only trainers, they’re past participants in the affiliated CrossFit Games.
“It’s unique to have a family where they’ve both competed in it,” said Lang of CrossFit, the high-intensity workout program featured at about 7,000 gyms nationwide. The CrossFit Games, which are featured on ESPN, attempt to determine the most fit athlete in the nation. “They do have the CrossFit certification, and they do know what it takes.”
Lang said the building was a good fit for the Grays after a building they’d previously looked at on Broadway fell through because of zoning issues. With tenant improvements for the 2,400-square-foot brick building in place, the gym is set to open Jan. 1, he said.
Previously, the building at 808 R St. housed marketing firm BKWLD, but the gym moving in will be a nice complement to a corridor with other new commercial buildings under construction and an established restaurant and nightlife scene, Lang said.
“With the whole resurgence of R Street, they’re really going to benefit from that, and the street will benefit from them,” he said.
CrossFit Analog has a four-year lease at the location, he added.
David Brandenburger of Cornish & Carey Commercial Newmark Knight Frank handled the transaction on behalf of the building owner, Lang said.
