Temple Coffee will add a third Sacramento grid location, with work already begun on a newly leased spot at 22nd and K streets.
Aaron Marchand of Turton Commercial Real Estate said the 2,500-square-foot building at 2200 K St. housed Strutz Jewelers for decades. But it didn’t become available for lease until recently.
Apart from changing the windows, “the owner really wanted to preserve what was there,” said Marchand, who worked on the lease on behalf of the landlord.
The new location, which should open in a few months, will be Temple’s primary midtown spot, complementing the downtown outlet at 1010 Ninth St. and a “roasterie” and small outlet at 2829 S St. Temple also has a spot on Fair Oaks Boulevard in the Arden-Arcade neighborhood.
Marchand said the midtown spot will have both fresh brewed coffees and some baked goods, similar to the other locations.
“It’ll just be a nice inviting midtown coffee house,” he said. “The space is a bit bigger than what they have elsewhere, but I think they wanted to have a more open seating feel.”
Mark Hefner, a senior vice president with DTZ, worked on the lease on behalf of the tenant.
