Bauen Capital Plans Early 2024 Start For Grower’s District Project In River District

An ambitious project to remake two blocks in Sacramento’s River District should start construction in early 2024, according to the developer.

Josh Kohlenbrener, project manager for the Grower’s District with Los Gatos’ Bauen Capital, said the project is through entitlements and now into final design and planning for marketing.

“At the end of the day, we want to build a community where people want to live,” he said. “There’s a lot of development in the River District and we’re looking forward to bring on a new community where tenants will follow.”

One aspect of the project is already underway, with Turton Commercial Real Estate marketing commercial spaces in an existing U-shaped industrial building that occupies a full city block at 200 N. 16th St.
